9-20-21 THOUGHTS

These are words from yesterday’s sermon.  It’s one thing to hear them audibly, another to see them with your own eyes.  We remember more when we see it.  These are words to be transmitted to our world around us.  Our world desperately needs Jesus!

As Jesus life winds toward a tortured end on the cross... the scene would be one of utter defeat on “a normal day”.   But this is not a normal day, and this is not    “just a man”.    
Yes... life is flowing away from him, but not toward defeat...  toward eternal victory.
The PROPHETIC “BRUISING OF SATAN’S HEAD”,  is about to occur!
The one who hangs here for my sin is not defeatable.    He is God in the flesh,  about to give up    that flesh  for the sake of    ALL  FLESH!  
And there as John records it in 19:30a...    Jesus makes a most powerful statement...
                                         “IT IS FINISHED”.
JUST WHAT IS FINISHED?
God’s “FLESH DWELLING” is over  
Heb 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
The ETERNAL WILL OF THE FATHER is accomplished ... PERFECTLY!    GOD’S ETERNAL PLAN TO SAVE MAN IS PERFECTED!
Rom 5:8   But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The Sum of History to “BRING US TO MESSIAH” is finished [A promise is KEPT]
Gal 4:4  But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
The RIGHTEOUS    WRATH    OF GOD IS SATISFIED    [PROPITIATION]
Rom 5:9    Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
ETERNITY HAS NOW BEEN  REVEALED... NO MORE MYSTERY!
Eph 3:9-11    and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; 10  so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. 11  This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,  12  in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.
It is the   DEATH of DEATH!      

My Prayer:
Thank you O God for the victory that is in Christ Jesus.  Help us to count and consider the blessings that have come to us from the death-burial and resurrection of your son.  Help us to be good children and good sheep.  May your love permeate our hearts and lives.   We long to be with you forever.  Thank you Lord for that hope.                  In Jesus name            Amen
